Faith as My Compass as a Christian Mompreneur

Growing up in the church, I always had some awareness of God, but my relationship with Him only deepened when I stopped going to church only as a spiritual ritual. It was during the pandemic that my spiritual life was strengthened. I prayed and studied the Bible more. I truly wanted a relationship, not just religion and during this time. So, I became more intentional with aligning my actions with the values I claimed. 

I don’t have all the answers on this spiritual journey, but I do have experience with God and that’s what keeps my faith strong. I recall a time early on in my entrepreneurial journey when my finances faced hardship. One morning, I saw my bank account in the negative. In this particular season, I didn’t worry. If it were another season, I probably would have been stressed. 

But, I did what had become a habit: dedicating Monday mornings to prayer and worship. When I came out of my prayer and worship time, my friend had sent me just enough money to cover my overdrafts and offer a tithe. She knew nothing about my financial situation. This was more than a coincidence; it was a divine reminder for me of God’s provision and reassurance to trust in His plan.

Daily Dependence: Prayer and Promptings

Incorporating faith into my daily routine centers around prayer and responsiveness to the Holy Spirit’s promptings. I don’t hear audible commands from God; instead, I feel subtle nudges in my spirit. These divine whispers guide my decisions, be it reaching out to someone, seeking new business collaborations, or navigating trials with grace.

I remember once ignoring a prompting to contact an old pastor, only to regret it deeply after his passing not long after. This taught me the value of obedience to these divine insights.

In business, this translates to praying for guidance daily, ensuring my actions align with His will. Before entering any collaboration, I vet potential partners through the lens of my faith, ensuring we share similar values and integrity.

Parenting with Purpose: Faith in Family Life

Parenting, much like entrepreneurship, requires patience and faith. My hope is that my children see Christ in me not through sermons, but through living examples of love, patience, and integrity.

As any parent will attest, it’s sometimes challenging to maintain composure amidst toddler chaos, but I continually ask for divine help in guiding my interactions with my kids. Teaching them values through actions rather than words remains a daily commitment.

Encouragement for Fellow Christian Mompreneurs

For those of you on this journey, remember that it’s about daily growth, not perfection. Faith isn’t about performing rituals but rather cultivating a relationship. The deeper my desire to know God, the more naturally my business and life align with His teachings.

Pray intentionally, listen for His guidance, and lead with love in all interactions. Whether you find yourself in crisis or peace, God has a way of using every moment to mold us. May your days be filled with divine inspiration and peaceful harmony.
